About This Discourse

William’s passion for collecting and growing Loulu palms has grown out his first encounter with a specimen of Pritchardia thurstonii, commonly known as Thurston Palm.  The work is a photographic discourse on Loulu, the only palm endemic to the Hawaiian Islands.   The research, writing and photography was compiled over the last three years.  The information is constantly being updated, so this work may be in flux, i.e., there may be updates posted periodically.  The photography is as complete as feasible at this point.  Species native to the Island of Kauai  are not completely represented by photographs at this time; William has yet to photograph several other species from some of the other islands.  These will also will be posted as acquired.
